About the formula and use

Is it tinted?

Lightly. Iron oxides give it one universal shade that goes on sheer, with no white residue. If you want more coverage, Colorescience suggest letting Matte set for a minute, then layering Face Shield Flex in your shade on top.

How is it different from the Face Shield SPF 50?

Both are 12% zinc oxide, SPF 50. The Face Shield comes in Original, Glow and Bronze for a dewier look. Matte is made for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin: it absorbs excess oil and leaves a shine-free finish.

Is it water resistant?

Yes, it is water and sweat resistant for 40 minutes. Reapply after swimming or sweating, and at least every 2 hours.

I'm sensitive to niacinamide. Can I use it?

It contains niacinamide, so patch test on the forearm or neck first if you know or suspect an allergy.
