About this treatment
BOTOX® is a purified botulinum toxin type A used to temporarily relax specific facial muscles. By reducing the muscle movement that creates expression lines, it softens the appearance of frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. Treatment takes 10 to 20 minutes and requires no downtime.
How it works
Botulinum toxin type A blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. Injected in small, precisely placed doses, it reduces movement in the treated muscle only, so the lines that form from repeated expression soften. The effect is temporary because nerve signalling gradually restores over the following months.
There is no antidote for BOTOX the way there is for hyaluronic acid filler. The effect fades only as the nerve naturally regrows its connection to the muscle, typically over three to four months. This is why conservative dosing at the start matters more than it does for reversible treatments.

Aftercare
Before your treatment
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. If you bruise easily, discuss blood-thinning medications and supplements such as fish oil or vitamin E with your injector first.
After your treatment
Stay upright for four hours, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area, and avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot yoga for 24 hours.
